Over the summer I had listened to Philly FM radio DJ Ed Sciaky talk via transcontinental telephone with members Jon Anderson, Chris Squire, then with new members Trevor H. and Geoff Downes. I started following YES with the YES album, and now YES was on their 4th keyboardist with Rick W having come and gone twice! My fears were dismissed when I purchased the Drama album in late August, 1980. A great YES album 44 years later! I saw this concert with then girlfriend Jennifer Fullam. She didn't want to come to the next show; I reluctantly obliged which broke a 9 straight YES concert in Philadelphia streak ( Dec 14, 1974 through 9/12/1980) . I ended up seeing YES (so far as of 2023) 67 times through Sept 30, 2023, with 21 shows at the Spectrum. The two Drama shows I attended, ( 10-17-80 Philadelphia also) were both excellent. Anyone who saw these Drama shows and didn't prefer them, too BAD! Charlie 6-3-2024

I was prepared for Yes's new lineup, I had played Drama many times, and I liked it. Philadelphia is full of Yes fans, I felt the band was on edge. The group itself was playing excellent, especially Steve,Chris & Alan . My friends & I were paying close attention to Trevor & Geoffrey. Looking back 28 years, I must say it wasn't as bad as people said.

The set list has been corrected -- to include "Parallels"!

Parallels was INDEED Played.

Parellels was played. Steve Howe interviewed with 'Ed Shiackey' on WYSP before the show and advised "We will be playing the entire album and Parellels, AYAI, YIND, Starship Trooper and Roundabout... yeah,, those five. Things Trevor is really confortable with as Chris harmonizes...Plus a couple of surprises." (Which turned out to be 'Go Thru This' and 'We can Fly from here'
All in all, Anderson was not missed because the band stepped up and rocked hard. A few numbnuts screaming 'Wakeman here and there, but Downes was very good, as was Horn. I've always rated it in the top 5 shows that I have seen out of 24 through 10 tours.

Sat at the top of the Spectrum for this show. Beg to differ on the set list - Parallels was played - Downes used his hammond instead of using his Fairlight for Pipe Organ. White was very angry as he left the stage.

Was sitting in the 3rd row and Yes had come in the Round again. This was the new line up minus Jon & Rick. We were all serious Yes Freaks and my friend Bob kept yelling "Jon Anderson !, Jon Anderson !". Squire kept giving him the evil eye as he came around and the third time he came around he gave him the finger. They were playing Yours Is No Disgrace. Bob stopped yelling after that and we all had a great laugh out of it. Squire rarely looked down at our section the remainder of the evening. That apparently really pissed him off.
