Why do I still remember the date October 9th, 1980?? This was my 2nd YES show. I had seen them on the last tour (April 28, 1979, to be exact!) I was preparing to be disappointed. I was a huge fan, and even though I was a drummer myself, I had the closest connection with Jon and Rick; neither of them were on the Drama album or tour. The album is quite surprisingly good. The concert was only memorable because it was the first one we personally drove our car to. (We were high school seniors). Because they were using the round stage, I also had the chance to walk behind Alan's kit before the show, and made mental notes on his setup. I remember seeing small CRATE monitors in between his toms---highly unusual but I soon adopted a similar stage setup for my own drums later. The following day, October 10th, both me and my friend Rick wore our DRAMA tour T-shirts to class. The school had scheduled a senior group photo out on the front lawn, and you can still see us, in our DRAMA shirts in the high school yearbook.

I saw this show with a bunch of friends from school. I was the big yes fan everyone else knew the band but were not big fans. I thought this was a great show especially in the middle of Machine Meseiha (sp) the drum riser raised above the stage and rotated in the opposit direction that the stage rotated it was quite a sight. The only downer was no opening act but with the special stage setup theres no way to do that. I would have loved to see the classic line up but I am more of a Howe fan then a yes fan, I would see a concert if Steve Howe was in charge of cleaning up afterward. I also saw the 90215 tour but it wasn't as good, maybe cause of no Howe.

The show took place at the now knocked down St. Paul Civic Center. I loved the show unlike a few other glue sniffin drunks in attendence. There were heckelers shouting at Trever. He said "I have never been to St. Paul" and some fool yells "Well don't come back!" To my recalect he has never returned to Minnesota. I also went to this show alone for most of my frends said its not Yes without Rick and Jon. The show fell midweek between Queen and AC/DC. I did go to Queen but I would rather die than see AC/DC. I like metal and Drama was about as metal as Yes got, AC/DC sucks.
