Squonk Thursday, June 5, 2014 1:04 PM eleventyfirst, Every time you think Steve Howe is still on his game, watch Close to the Edge from Queens Park 1975. You'll realize he is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,th now of the way he use to play. That includes Chris and Alan. Also I can show you many, many youtube reviews that says they stink now, in all ways. Here's someone's youtube review of Close to The Edge from the 3 album tour. NilezII -I couldn't get past 1:30. Ugh! Mel Man The Las Vegas-ification of Yes is a sad thing to see. These guys need to retire. I was lucky enough to attend four shows on the Three Albums Tour and they were all amazing. And the crowds were incredibly enthusiastic. And the praise is written all over YouTube and Facebook and Twitter, etc. The tour has been grueling, though, and it took a toll on Jon D's voice. That's a shame because he had been really good throughout! And Steve and Chris have reminded audiences time and again that they are giants. Giants of legend who still rock, indeed I believe the Steve Howe is at the very top of his game. Squonk Friday, May 30, 2014 3:23 PM Talk about pushing the envelope. They have milked this as much as they can. Sub par on all levels! No one is walking out of these shows in shock like they used to, 1971 -1979. So this isn't YES. Jan Geisler Thursday, May 29, 2014 10:28 AM My shortest Yes-concert ever. We awaited this concert for a long. My friends from the German Yes- forum [Link][Link] gave me a "meet and greet"-ticket as a gift for my 50th birthday for this evening. We also had planned a meeting in a hotel. So we wondered at first why the concert starts 25 minutes later. The sound was very bad, mainly because the mixing. I can’t hear Steves voice and the higher guitarstrings. The same was with Jon Davison, heard his voice “far away”. The bass boomed and Chris’ voice was too loud. Steve wasn’t visibly amused about that and gave some carakters to the mixer. So Steve stoped the show after “Close To The Edge” – said “We need five minutes to make some decisions”. Than they came back and Steve said they had to end the show because Jon Davisons voice, and they will come back to Leipzig and play the show. They played “Würm” and left the stage. Later the famous german singer – Heinz Rudolf Kunze entered the stage and said maybe Yes will come back at 1th of June and play the show. But I don’t believe Davisons voice get well to this date. Think there are to much concerts for his voice. But we will see hope the best for the fans …But there also was no meet & greet, so I feel sad ... your_host Thursday, May 29, 2014 5:43 AM CTTE song entirely performed before announcement was made that the show cancelled due to Jon D throat infection. Band then plays Wurm as a closer before leaving stage. Geoffrey Downes @asiageoff Thursday, May 29, 2014 5:30 AM via Twitter Hi folks, very sorry we had to stop tonight's show in Leipzig, due to JD's problematic throat infection. Hope we'll be good to go in Praha. |
