Jon's positive enthusiasm flowed over the stage into the audience along with the smoke from the fog machine. A lot of love in the house with a standing ovation for virtually every song. No intermission! The tempo of "Siberian Khatru" was a little slow and Geoff had the sheet music up on his tablet for some pieces. Alan donned headphones for "Cans and Brahms" and it sounded a bit muddy - I blame the sound mixers. Steve pulled a funny face for our benefit when his laúd briefly dropped out of the mix completely during "All Good People." Very impressed that they kept to the album versions when they could have done their own solos - not a strain of "Video Killed the Radio Star" to be heard at all (I wouldn't have minded). Gracious bows and thanks at the end as each of them individually acknowledged the separate sections of the audience. A very enjoyable evening kicked off wonderfully by young Canterbury prog rockers Syd Arthur. |
