Steev Linno - R North is right. However, were you referring to the same show [only in 1971 :-] where they opened for Emerson Lake & Palmer? I was there at The Spectrum [which is coming down next month] and they did the entire Yes Album & practically everything from Fragile. Oh JOY - Oh RAPTURE ! ! ! By time Keith Emerson, in the middle of ELP's set, [fresh off the "Community" doob :-] started doing mid-air circles with his Hammond & began throwing "knives" into a fake spkr cabinet, 9 of us looked at each other, and without a single word, got up [our entire row] and quietly left the theater . . . We were never quite the same after that night. Squire [marching up front, proudly with Anderson] & Bruford have to be the finest rhythm section ever born to this planet. [Sure there were a few others, but U know what I mean]. It's a shame the hated each others guts . . . . Now That's a show I wish we'd have taped - *sob* Peace all - Steev hilarleo J Tull had toured north america the previous year , though... & then,,, YES never recorded that album called 'STAND UP' either. a smashing idea though; tull's 'stand up' remains one of the better written (and produced) r&r albums Evah, on a par with the first 'yes' project. R North Hey Linno, That's because there wasn't one!!! Yes first played in the US in late June 1971. Linno I don't see an entry for the spring 1970 tour, Philadelphia's Spectrum. The stadium was 1/4 full - 3/4 empty. It didn't take long for them to produce sell-out concerts. Was privileged to see them 3 times! The first was the best. Stand up - With You There To Help Me - my favorite. |
