There were two shows: The first starting at 8pm; the second starting at 11:30pm. Black Sabbath was advertised as the top billing performer, but did not show.

I remember this show well, in fact it was my 18th birthday, the bill was supposed to include Humble Pie and Black Sabbath , but Black Sabbath was a no show, so we heard just humble pie with Steve Marriott and yes, a great great show

What no one up to now has posted is that Yes came out for a rousing encore of "America" that was slightly longer than the version we all know and love from "Yesterdays". I too came to see Black Sabbath, but I was young and dumb and learned my lesson forthwith. It was like seeing the passing of the torch from hard rock at its zenith with a great (and I mean GREAT) show from Humble Pie, to the newly emerging prog style that Yes, ELP, and Genesis were forging for the previous few years, and was just now flourishing in Europe with the U.S. in its crosshairs. I treasure my good fortune to have witnessed the event on this date in Yes history.

Sabbath did not, if fact show. Not a bad set of warm up acts; Yes and Humble Pie with Steve Marriott and Peter Frampton on lead guitar. Yes rocked but Frampton was amazing...and years later would come out with his famous live album.

After Steve plays Clap and Classical Gas, he continues playing, stringing together little bits of melodies. One of these is Mood for a Day. Don't recognize any of the other bits. Then, he finishes the solo by returning to Clap.

Jul 15 1971 Port Chester, NY Capitol Theater. Yes/ Humble Pie/ Black Sabbath. 2 Shows on the same day. On the webpage [Link] it says that Sabbath played.
