ABWH was supposed to play in Spain In September 1989. The tickets were sold and everything was going on. But when the band was in Modena -Italy-Jon Anderson was diagnosed a laryngitis , and the rest of Italy France & Spain gigs of the European leg were cancelled. The shows were postponed to February 90. In fact, if you look at the dates of the tickets they are set for November 89, but actually they were used 2 months later!!
In February they have changed the stage design, and Jon Anderson's clothes are very different from the Tour ones -a shawl that he changed during the show in different colours-;
I'll never forget this day in my life because it was the day I met Jon Anderson for the first time. At this time I had started the Spanish Yes Fan Club, and I had been into conversations with the label and management office for a long time to meet the band. So I had an appointment with the manager in the box office to get the backstage passes and meet the band, which was the dream of my life. But he wouldn't come, anybody would come to me, and I was very very upset.
In the middle of the concert, I was standing in the first row , and I saw a security man speaking with a tall long haired man pointing at me. The tall guy came to me and said : "Hi , are you the president of the Fan Club?. -I replayed a big "YES"- and he just handed a pair of backstage passes to me. "And You and I" was sounding, and I couldn't stop crying. It was a very beautiful moment because I had dreamt so hard this moment. The tall manager was Paul Silveira. He's great guy who also managed The Ladder tour, and then I lived a similar situation. I was supposed to get the passes and everything failed, and in the last moment Paul would come to me. In this crazy business , there are few people who really keep his word, and Paul Silveira is one of them.
