Great concert last night at Hudson Gardens! LONG time Colordo resident, and just as long YES concert goer (41 years). The venue was great, for an outdoor, end of summer concert. Having never been there, we opted to arrive at 5:30pm when the park gates opened. OOPS....should have gotten there earlier for upfront seats. All seating is geneal admission/lawn seating.
Nice mix of songs....I was thrilled they did "I am waiting" from the Talk tour....and pleasantly surprised they did South Side of the Sky! Awaken and Heart of the Sunrise were crowd faves. And of course, everyone was on their feet for Owner.
Jon never ceases to amaze me....his voice is magical, clear and true....a wonderful evening, if you get a chance to see them...go!

I have to say, this is one of the most fulfilling Yes shows I've seen since 1991. The energy onstage was infectious. The guys obviously loved being there. This is a direct contrast to the last time I saw Yes (Official), wherein I felt like the concert really lacked energy and emotion (except from Jon Davison, who is always clearly having the time of his life).
However, there is a consequence to touring as Yes instead of ARW: the clientele. I really felt like the playlist this time was intended for long-time Yes fans, not casual fans.
When you play in the summer at a community garden, you're going to get people who would be totally content with hearing Owner, All Good People, and Roundabout over and over again for two hours. Playing deep cuts from the Rabin years... or even Awaken, for that matter, probably loses the audience for a large portion of the show.
