What an amazing show. I'd say Jon and the Band Geeks might be better than Yes at the moment. First of all, a different cast of characters brought a new life into the material, as they weren't trying to just play it, but put their own personalities into it. I think the moment that sold me was when, in Close to the Edge, they fumbled for a second, but recovered in such a way that you wouldn't even notice. It reminded me of a moment when Bill B's Earthworks were playing One of a Kind and they completely messed up at a point, but recovered in a similar way. Second, the new stuff was on par with the Yes material. The songs were well crafted and had an edge to them. The epic, Once Upon a Dream, was probably the best song any Yesman has produced since The Ladder. Jon A. and the Band Geeks is not just a cover group for Yes, but an entity to themselves.
