The band was in great form and played a very inspired show that slips through the cracks in Yes history. Unfortunately, I seem to be the only person who taped this magnificent gig. While the second disc sounds quite good, the first disc is a bit muffled and is missing the first minute or so of Close to The Edge. I got the best sound of this tape by correcting the azumith on the tape and simply transferring it to cdr. In the past, I have tried lots of EQ and tampering but that just resulted in the show sounding processed. So here it is clean, raw, and natural ten years later. I recommend downloading for the performance alone, it is excellent. That said, the balance of instruments is perfect and there is little audience interference. The only drawback is that disc one lacks the clarity and highs of disc two. Reason being that the recorder was hidden under a shirt for the first half due to the muscular security staff making me (15 at the time) paranoid. And as a final note, if anyone has another source for this show, please step forward and upload it. We would all love to hear it. In the meantime, enjoy this stellar show on it's tenth (almost) anniversary. |
