Re-Track Notes: Same set list as commecially available Tsongas show from Lowell, Mass. except that Soon is the encore. Original Taper 1 Notes: Nice show I drove a long ass way to see and tape. The 10th anniversary of my first trip to TO to see RUSH in 1994, the last show of the Counterparts tour. That roadtrip was the seed planted that sprung to life my followup trips to see Rush on the future tours starting in 1996. This trip was a great anniversary and so worth it. The sound wasn't very loud, which is typical for a Yes show and actually I think this recording sounds better than what I remember hearing at the show since it was so quiet. Asshat "woo hoo" guy and talker is a bit distracting in a couple songs but for the most part he keeps his mouth shut. There was no way to put this on two 80 min discs without cutting crowd, etc. SSotS is incredible, so are the Mind Drive tracks. Wow, I would never have thought they could have come off so wonderful, but they do. I loved the acoustic set and Wakeman's The Meeting is so beautiful. Rhythm Of Love seems out of place but it's ok I guess. Ritual is a tour-de-force. I hated Topo when I first heard it, I just didn't get it (I think I was too young) until I heard some of the songs live ... incredible. "Soon" is just hypnotic, an amazing performance of this song, Jon's voice was absolutely in perfect order at the end of the show and Steve just whining away on slide guitar is so mesmorizing. For those that missed it the first time around, here you go. |
