I released a mastered version of my tape on dime a while ago but was never really satisfied with the result. After biddie sent me his recording I started a new effort but the first results were disappointing either. My recording suffered from general lousyness and too much stage distance, in biddie's version (sounding distant as well) the vocals had some annoying mid frequencies. Removing these left a brittle, unpleasant sound. So I combined the two sources and... wow. Now you have strong basses and shiny vocals. Additionally I used a 'reverb remover' which surprisingly did a very good job in obtaining a more direct sound. The new master still has some flaws but it's a big improvement to my first version and despite being heavily processed it still sounds natural.
