Some may be familiar with some of my other recordings, back in 2007 I made one of the best audience recordings I have ever heard at this venue. Unfortunately, that band is no longer allowed on the sharing sites. You can imagine how psyched I was Yes was playing this great venue. It's small, it holds 982 people I think. It was probably only about 90% filled. But the acoustics are fantastic. I was sitting in the sweet spot, just a few seats over from where I was back in 2007. This was the second show of the tour, and the first full length show. I was a bit worried after reading the reviews from the first show, but I was pleasantly surprised. This was a good performance, with only a couple of early tour miscues. (The middle of South Side...I thought Geoff did a great job with it, but Alan seemed to be the one having the trouble, and of course Five Percent). There's also a buzzing noise on some of the keyboard sections of Heart Of The Sunrise, but that was present in the theater, and not an artifact of the recording. I was somewhat surprised at the inclusion of the two new songs. Not so much that they played new material, more about the song selection. They released "Believe Again" as a single, and it's available to stream on Spotify, so that's one a lot of fans may have heard, but they picked two other songs instead. They seemed to go over well, and they were well played. The recording came out great I think. But that's what I expected at this venue. I was using a new battery box this evening, after having some trouble with my old one the last time out. It passed the test pretty well I think. This was a fun show, and this is a nice document of the evening. Artwork is included in the torrent. The photos are from the actual show. PLEASE DO NOT USE AS A SOURCE FOR A MATRIX. Please share this recording in unaltered lossless quality. If you need to remaster, or something, let me know, and I can provide the undedited raw master (without EQ/volume tweaks) for you to use. -- MP July 2014 |
