I had floor seats for this one in the beautiful Fox Theater, 16 rows from the stage, just left of center. The sound in the room was too loud, at least I thought it was too much for Yes music, especially the drums. Perhaps this is the 80’s sound they were going for, I was a fan of the ‘70s era band. Still it was a good show, a little rough in places [early in the tour] but I’m really glad I went.
Jon’s voice was sounding great except during The Meeting, which he got through but his voice was showing the strain of the loud numbers. Trevor Rabun’s style is not to my taste, a poor substitute for Steve Howe but this was his work being featured, so.... It was a joy to see and hear Rick Wakeman again. He played flawlessly as usual and seemed to be enjoying himself. Unfortunetly, we didn't get Starship Trooper.
Some close clappers and a few comments but nothing truly annoying being picked up. Occasionally the sound gets muffled from audient members standing up in front of me, until I could stand up. At one point, I dropped my phone and had to bend down to pick it up. Otherwise, no recording issues.
Support the band, go see them on this tour if you can. Buy the band’s official merchandise. Never sell this recording but please freely trade. Never upload this as an MP3 or other lossy format.
