Highland HL089#Y17 - recorded either May 25 or May 26 FY note: This was definitely recorded in Millersville PA, on either May 25 or 26, at the Pucillo gym of Millersville State College. Not in Lititz, not at 'Tait Towers' or at Clair Bros. soundstage. The Remembering with Patrick Moraz Yes "Solo Rehearsals" Tait Towers Lititz, PA, USA 1976 May xx Audience recording Poor quality, for the hard of listening only, see samples below. This is my 1st upload, no idea what the speed will be but I'll stay connected for as long as it takes. Often mentioned in torrent comments for 1976 Yes shows, here are the 1976 tour rehearsals featuring the fabled Moraz Remembering. I'm told this was on DIME a while ago, but before I joined so this is not a re-vine. In addition to a copy of the bootleg Highland CD "Solo Rehearsals", this torrent includes a lower generation but unknown source (and still pretty rough) copy of The Remembering, and I'm Down which was not on the bootleg. The lower Gen copy has more inaudible chat & etc before the song, and the bootleg has more inaudible chat afterwards, so I pasted them together. Don't panic, the torrent also includes the raw versions of both copies. This rehearsal omits the 1st 30 seconds from the standard Tales version of The Remembering (or maybe the recording is cut), and has a new more powerful, longer ending. In between, there are a lot of re-arrangements including a single longer 'Relayer' section, longer ‘ocean’ sections but only two of them, different instrumentation for the first 'out in the city', and some re-shuffling of the lyrics (but that could just be Jon being in the moment). Original, inaccurate & unintentionally hilarious Highland artwork is included. Sound Chager?? Millersville?? © Highland?? ======================== the band was Jon Anderson - vocals, (acoustic guitar?, percussion?) Steve Howe - guitar, vocals Patrick Moraz - keyboards Chris Squire - bass, vocals Alan White - drums Yes - 1976 May xx, Lititz PA, "Solo Rehearsals" ver. 2 / FLAC / CDR *61:49m (extras 37:24m) / AUD / C- ? / track 1 - 6 from Highland HL089#Y17, hi Gen, swooshy mono, tape flutter, mic noise, Left channel drops out occasionally, track endpoints reset. Track 6a, 6b & 7 from an unknown lower Gen source, bonus tracks from a Roanoke 1976-05-28 trade. 1.01 Heart Of The Sunrise (9.28) 1.02 Heart Of The Sunrise 2 (3.55) 1.03 Excerpts From "Story Of I" (10.12) 1.04 Flight Of The Moorglade (7.02) 1.05 Sound Chaser (9.26) 1.06 The Remembering (18.16) ======================== extras 7 I’m Down 2:56 - not on the "Solo Rehearsals" CD 6a The Remembering (mix) 19:07 - lower G with balance fixed & ending chat added 6b The Remembering 18:46 - the lower Gen copy, balance is way to the Left * If you're making a CDR from this you can use any one of the track 6's and the disc will play normally. Track 6, and just for the hell of it here is the Highland dis - membering. Track 6a, if you're not a purist & want something that sounds more matched to the rest of the tracks, this is the lower Gen with the balance fixed & ending chat (from Highland copy) added on. Track 6b is the raw lower Gen copy of The Remembering, the balance is way to the Left. ======================== Source info: track 1 - 6: Highland HL089#Y17 silver CD > unknown transfer in 2000 > CDR > EAC secure > GoldWave > TLC (FLAC 8) > DIME > you track 6a 6b, 7: unknown transfer in 2004 > CDR > EAC secure > GoldWave > TLC (FLAC 8) > DIME > you Overall the Highland CD runs a bit too fast but I didn't try to fix it. There is no EQ, noise reduction or other processing except using GoldWave, I reset most track endpoints. As well, for track 6a using the lower Gen copy, I delayed the Right channel by .00025 seconds to fix the balance, & pasted 25.7 seconds of unintelligible chat & etc from the end of the Highland copy, at the end. When the Forgotten Yesterdays 'Rarities List' still included rehearsals & etc, this recording was listed as "Audience 100 min" and also included Sweet Dreams, anyone...?? Failing that, a secure digital copy of the Highland CD would probably give us better sounding copies of tracks 1-5 and would certainly be welcome. And of course, this recording is for free, lossless, gapless sharing only - never for sale, only make mp3s for personal use, support live music, and buy official releases. regards haroldland Aug 2010 yestorrent // |
