(master > WAV > FLAC > you.) comments: The final stop of the U.S. Tormato tour was highlighted in this broadcast with some songs rarely if ever heard in other Yes tours, particularly don't kill the whale, circus of heaven, and on the silent wings of freedom (I'm counting the 79 tour as basically 78 part two tour, since there was no new Yes album that year.). This is a nice clean recording from my FM master reel. I thought it would already be in the giant dime archive but I only saw an audience recording of this show (supposedly a D-5 source- did they even have D-5's in 1978?). if you haven't heard the FM version you should, so here it is. I checked to see if this version of "don't kill the whale" is officially released, knowing that there is a live version of it, and they didn't play that song very often. the Yes discography lists the version in Yesshows as Empire Pool Wembley 10/28/78, about a week before this version. that was the only version I saw available of that song. Roundabout was released on "classic yes" from that same 10/28/78 show, and all good people from Oakland, Ca. I did not see any portion of this show listed as being officially available. this show may have been seeded from a pre-FM source a few years ago but this version has not, and it sounds pretty nice. this tape was not played more than a couple of times. This show was broadcasted at least a couple of times in the late 70's, maybe again later. this comes from a 70's broadcast. Do not sell this recording. Trade freely and losslessly. ++++ + INFO REMY: THIS RECORDING IS FROM OCTOBER 28, 1978 - WEMBLEY ARENA - LONDON + KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR CONSCIOUSLY CUT OUT JON'S LONDON TEXT (AFTER SIBERIAN KHATRU) + IT WAS BROADCASTED AS OCTOBER 6, 1978 BY KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR IN THE LATE 70s ++++ ++++ INFO FY: This is sourced from the USA King Biscuit Sunday Radio Special, which was first aired on November 26, 1978 and several times thereafter. On King Biscuit the show was erroneously introduced as "recorded on the last date of their North American tour", often incorrectly cited as Oct 6 (or Oct 16) at the Los Angeles Forum. The US broadcast cut the Big Medley and Awaken that were present on the original BBC One UK broadcast on Nov 17. ++++ |
