Hi
I can't remember who seeded this in the first place, but it's a real goodie!
Here's the notes by the original seeder -
Yes The Alternate Generator (with bonus Jon & Vangelis tracks) Factory Pressed CD Cat. # DD1002
Yes - Big Generator Line-Up: Jon Anderson - Lead Vocals Tony Kaye - Keyboards Trevor Rabin - Guitars, Keyboards, Backing Vocals Chris Squire - Bass, Backing Vocals Alan White - Drums & Percussion
Comments: Track 1 through 9 are demo and alternate tracks from "Big Generator". Rumor has it that these are the Trevor Horn produced songs, who left the project before it was completed.
Track 10,11,12 and 13 are Jon & Vangelis demos, and stated on the cover art to be recorded in 1986. Research suggests that they were recorded somewhere between the "Private Collection" album (1983) and "Page Of Live" (1991).
Track 10 "Let's Pretend" is the original JON & VANGELIS version (demo). In 1989 this song was recorded and included on the release, Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe.
Limited edition of 300 copies from Germany, sold (bootleg) at the time for a very expensive price. Liberated now. Trade freely.
Quality: Studio Recordings....Rating: 5 Stars (using the old rating system)...a must have for any YesWest / Jon & Vangelis fan.
Lineage: Factory Pressed CD > EAC > FLAC
Correct Track Listing: 01. Love Will Find A Way 02. Big Generator 03. Rhythm Of Love 04. Final Eyes 05. I'm Running 06. Shoot High Aim Low 07. Shoot High Aim Low (2nd Take) 08. Big Generator (2nd Take) 09. Holy Lamb (instrumental) 10. Lets Pretend 11. All Through The Night 12. Say What You Will 13. The Arms Of Love
Cover Art: I include the original cover art that it came with. Errors could be found in the track list (starting at track nine), in which I corrected (see "correct track listing" above).
Track 13 "Distant Thunder" as stated on the cover art is not included on this BOOT (as listed on cd inside and backing (both are the exact same).
Photos (backing) also incorrectly show the Union line-up. The YesWest (nicknamed because band members were living on the west coast of the United States) band members are listed (see above).
The actual cover reminds one of Tales From Topographic Oceans. It's a great album from YesPast, but has nothing to do with this period release (Big Generator).
Note: What really counts here is the quality of the music. Should someone want to make new cover art that reflects what is actually on the CD, please feel free to do so.
