Dedicated to Alan White, whose great drumming and expressions can be easily appreciated in this film. This is a great 8mm film with big thanks to Peter Reid for lending it to us. It is quite a long film for 8mm and includes very long segments and a very close view of the band. We did a 2K transfer, and the colors and detail are really phenomenal and rank this up as one of the best we've worked on. For comparison purposes, here are some previous transfers:
For restoration, I cleared dust/dirt with AviSynth and noise using Neat video, but generally with all the light available there wasn't too much of it. A bit more NR was only needed in the dark segments, which I brightened so more could be seen. I added some grain and detail and interpolated it to a higher frame rate with FFMPEG for smoother motion.
The audio was handled by Hed Gilboa ([Link]) who blended the original camera audio recording with Shaun Toole's (aka the Tooleman) excellent remaster of the audience tape of this show.
The final production was just minor detail work and doing my best to handle damaged frames. It's really quite a great show and a must for Yes fans IMO.
