A good show, made better by the inclusion of many rarely played live songs to the set list, rather than all the old warhorses than even diehard fans must be getting a bit tired of hearing for the umpteeth time. Even if songs like Sweet Dreams and Every Little Thing aren't as good as Heart of the Sunrise, I'd much rather hear them, played rather than HOTS or Owner of a Lonely Heart for the 15th time...

The acoustic 2nd set was an inspired idea, too bad they didn't think about doing it when they played in smaller theaters, where the intimate format and better sound would make it come across even better.

It was delightful to have the return of Roger Dean's set designs, to match the soaring music of Ritual and Turn of the Century, although the execution could have come off far better had they been done in fiberglass, like in the days of old. The Lighting of them was very well done though, much more dramatic and elaborate than what could be done on the smaller theater tours.

Not hat big a deal, but the order of the final songs and encores could surely be better placed. The magnificent version of And You and I which leaves everyone standing and on a real high, might be better placed as the closing song, before an encore of Rhythm of Love and Every Little Thing.

The 48 page tour programme, (while overpriced at $25.) is another delight. The history of all the band's tours, told through hundreds of bootleg covers, many which have great alternate versions of Roger Dean artwork. Kudos to the Gottlieb Bros for coming up with, finding pictures of all those boots, and doing such a great job on the layout! Only complaint - they didn't include the AWBH tour in the official history, but placed it in the back without any commentary.

Amusing that you would say that you have a 19 year old daughter who likes Yes. I went with my mother, and we didn't see anyone between 8 and 30. All the kids got suckered in by their parents, I'm sure.

I'd never seen Yes before, and I'm glad that I did. I realize that perhaps they had some technical difficulties, and the balance was less-than-standard. Mr. Wakeman should also check the equalization of his keyboard, because it was coming out really muddy for me. Perhaps it was just the venue. However, you have to realize that this is the beginning of the tour, and they are really really old, so naturally, it'd be a pretty rough start songwise. On the other hand, I think that it was a good thing to see them at the beginning of the tour, while they're still excited about playing the songs and not in a dull groove.

They played a very long show, almost three hours. Electric set at the beginning, followed by an acoustic set, and finally another electric set to close it out. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it's reinspired me to listen to more and more of their music.

The one complaint that I did have, songwise, was playing "Roundabout" with a triple meter. It isn't meant for a shuffle sound! Maybe they're sick of playing it, and I understand that, but don't destroy a great song like that. Alas.

Overall, I relished the experience and would do it again in a second.

First time at the HP in SJ and kind of interesting to have huge mirrored glass buildings surrounded by old school wild west style structures with huge jet planes flying overhead in between a mammoth of winding highways.

The HP is very clean especially the bathrooms and the crowd a bit on the eclectic side with a majority on the over 40 side. Inside the stadium what seemed to be half of the hockey ring which held maybe 8 to 10 thousand which maybe 8 thousand attended. Pretty nice size since previous crowds in the past 5 years were 4 thousand max.

The performance was at best 2 out of 5 and the band looked like they were having trouble with either hearing themselves or relating with what the audience was listening to. The song selection was different from what was circulating months before but some nice rarities were present in the lineup. The acoustic set was great and went very well as this was my fav for the concert. This was the first concert where during AUAI I got up to go by a T-shirt.

The bad and this was a major first and I am sure recovered by the next gig was the uneven sound mix and light mix. Simply put...crap! I am sure they learned a bunch though but was a shame it had to be that night.

Great to see Yes and will go see them again and again and buy every album again and again.

I first saw Yes in Melbourne, Australia in 1973 on their Close to the Edge tour.

Last night I took my 19 year old daughter, a collge freshman, who LOVES Yes to see them in San Jose.

And it was an awesome concert. The first set was energetic and the band was in great form, warming up as they went. The second set was an acoustic set, followed by Ritual from Tales.

Anderson's voice is as clear and pure as it ever was. He is such a gracious man, and this always comes acrross. Wakeman is a presence on stage, and his electronic flourishes send chills up and down my spine. Squire simply rocks. Howe is the master he always was - so rich in texture. And White has that power and complexity that keeps it all together.

I didn't take notes (!) but here are some of the songs - not in order, so please add to and modify...
