note to G H...... I have all my ticket stubs from the period, with the names of the opening acts written on the stub, usually as the show was happening. I have the P-D band as the only opener at this show. But, I also have a stub for a Black Sabbath show at Freedom Hall on Dec. 6 '75, with Manfred Mann [and Grey Ghost] as the openers. I was and am a MMann fan, so I am sure I would have noted them on the stub - and I think that is the only time, with Sabbath, that I ever saw MMann! My memory is certainly a little smokey from those days, but my notes are pretty acurate!! Hope this helps!

I attended the J.C. Show and I am almost certain Manfred Mann opened that evening. Could they have been a late substitution or is my memory gone?

We had just had our class of '76 graduation in Harlan, Kentucky, a town famous for coal-mining and moonshine that is about 1 1/2 hours from Johnson City. Six of us piled in my friend's yellow Gremlin, and headed over the mountains for the concert.

It was festival seating, so we stood in front of Steve Howe. I was the biggest Yes fan in the group, and our black friend Cargo probably didn't know any of the music.

But it was a great show. They did "The Remembering", and Jon had these big poster size sheets at his feet with the words. I don't think he looked at them once.

During "Your Move" they had a pretty neat laser show, and my football buddy was emulating "Bloop", the monkey-looking creature from "Lost in Space", as put his hands in the air and slowly did 360's going "Bloop Bloop".

Standing in front of Steve Howe was the highlight, and he didn't disappoint.

It's the only time I've had a chance to stand at the very front of the stage for a Yes concert.

It was also probably the smallest crowd of any Yes concert I've seen.
