A memorable night, it was especiallly good for me as I was in the wings, playing records between the bands. I recall Tony Kaye had to hobble past, with his plastered leg[or have I got that muddled with the album cover?] Anyway they absolutely blew me and the rest of Southend away, the sight of Chris in full flight (he seemed to spend most of the time airborne) is something that will stay with me always.
Only last week I met a youngster who told me that he had Bill Bruford as his Drum tutor at University. Bearing in mind that he wasn't born, and that probably his parents hadn't even met in 1970; its a great testament to the band as whole that those intervening 36 years(almost) made no diffence to our mutual appreciation of what talented musicians can acheive.
