Tony Jaiye Saturday, February 23, 2013 5:10 PM My third Yes concert (the first with Rick Wakeman) and I remember it was a fantastic show! I liked the Hipgnosis-style staging with the video screen in the background and I also remember a green silouhette dancing on the screen at times! I particularly enjoyed Parallels (great opener) and it was a minor 'shock' to see Steve Howe and Chris Squire playing Fender guitars instead of their usual Gibson/Rickenbacker trademark axes! I really dug Alan White's custom Ludwig/ North green drum kit! Close To The Edge kicked ass, especially with Alan's tympani during the 'I Get Up, I Get Down' segment. Rick never failed to impress either! And You And I was great, between Steve's steel guitar and Chris's bass pedals! I loved Awaken with it's live-only intro of Jon Anderson's harp, vibraphone, guitar,triple-necked bass and keyboard. Starship Trooper rocked, with Steve's and Rick's duelling solos with each other. The only bummer was that the show,I felt, was too brief(a little over 2 hours) and there were no solo spots. But nevertheless, it was a great show, and it was great to see the Classic lineup reunited.
