This concert was originally scheduled for November 10, 1977 but was postponed until November 13, 1977.
Lynda Barry Well I was there! It was truly an awesome concert in front of a capacity audience! Ah sweet memories! Can anyone tell me where I can get to hear the actual audience recording? That is a trip down memory lane I would love to take! lyn.da_baby@yahoo.com D. A. Payne Once more I'm compelled to offer comments on a concert only just heard decades later on an audience tape. This concert definitely has similar energy to the night before in Gothenburg, Sweden, and together they may well represent the GFTO tour's peak. Everything about it generates shivers and goosebumps. While early GFTO shows had plenty of raw energy, later ones and particularly the final European dates saw refinements in arrangements and improvisations ultimately making their tour what it came to be historically. The Copenhagen audience recording ["AR'] meanwhile is of exceptional quality. High end ARs were rather uncommon in 1977 and downright rare from 1976, at least in Yes' case, but Copenhagen 77's ranks among the best of its year. Copy I heard came from a seeder's group and had been remastered by someone who did a decent job, but I'd love to hear the raw, original masters in order to know all possibilities [I do quite a bit of remastering myself]. If their maker/owner sees this post, please post in reply and perhaps we can deliver a real holy grail of Yesdom a bit down the road! Meanwhile anyone browsing FY wondering what might be the best GFTO tour ARs for both sound quality and Yes delivery can take my word for it: Copenhagen 77 counts among them. It's likely the AR from Gothenburg was outstanding too [maybe the same taper], but a weeded remaster seemingly the only version circulating had its sound spectrum flattened and was full of digital noise reduction artifact. Steffen Staugaard The concert was originally scheduled on 11.10.77 - but the date 11.13.77 is correct, seeing it was postphoned. And Donovan did also do the warm-up on 11.13.77.
