CY Thursday, November 14, 2013 9:42 AM Dropped? 'Leaves Of Green' dropped 'Catherine Parr' dropped 'Merlin the Magician' dropped 'Gone But Not Forgotten' dropped This is not accurate, all of those songs were played CY Thursday, November 14, 2013 9:40 AM This was the best concert I ever saw! John Mack After the show, my girlfriend and I were on our way back to Chicago, Illinois when we stopped for a bite at a Perkins restaurant along Interstate 94. Half-way through our meal, a limousine pulled up to the front door. Out jumped Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman. They ordered one dozen assorted muffins from the bakery. The difference in their respective heights was very distinct. My girlfriend was nearly crying she was so excited. I nervously approached them and said something like "I have really enjoyed your music over the years; great show." They nodded thanks and made a quick escape.
before 'Shock To The System' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:Woo! Alright. Thank you so much. It’s great to be with you this evening. Woo! Loosen up a bit. Shock, ‘Shock To The System'. Shock to the rights of mankind. Shock to the politician. before 'Heart Of The Sunrise' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:Thank you so much. Thank you. Woo! Alright. Thank you so much. Thank you. So you ahh, you all live around here, right? Wisconsin, Alpine Valley. Someone told me you gotta wake up and dream. Okay. Wake up and dream. before 'Clap' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:Thank you so much. Thank you. I remember writing, when we wrote that song, we went to live down in Devon. It’s a beautiful part of England, it’s very much like this, without the ski slopes, of course. Or Canada, it was good to get out of the city. So, it’s a pleasure, always a great pleasure to introduce, on acoustic guitar, the maestro Mr. Steve Howe. before 'Make It Easy' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Steve Howe:Thank you. Good evening. Thank you very much. Nice playing for you. before 'And You And I' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:Woo! before 'Drum Duet' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Announcer:Mr. Alan White, Mr. Bill Bruford. before 'Changes' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:The man standing there, wearing a black silk shirt, black silk trousers, black silk shoes, and nothing else! The original, Mr. Tony Kaye. before 'I've Seen All Good People' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Trevor Rabin:Thank you very much. Jon Anderson: Oh, yeah. It’s sing-a-long time. We know that you’ve got wonderful voices, so we’re going to record you singing, duet. Lots of microphones up there and up there, and over there tonight. For all the people on the, all the people out there smoking the grass. Hey! Sitting on the grass, you guys out there. This one’s for you out there on the grass. And also for all you guys here. We’re going to sing in that wonderful key, of E. Ohhhhhh… and that stuff, wow! before 'Solly's Beard' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:Thank you so much. Thank you. That’s really wonderful. Yes. [???] Way back there, there it is, the wee stool. Yes indeed, yes. It gets a bit dusty, a little bit like Chris. This stool especially built by Trev, to match his geetar. And it’s exactly balanced, is the light okay? Is the light okay? Excuse me, excuse me, is the light okay? These guys… This next song was time in bed, ahh, in the studio, that’s right. In fact he’s got a bed in the studio. One of the great rock an’ roll guitar players, Mr. Trevor Rabin! And a month ago, a month ago, was it a month ago? Remember a month ago? He became, you guessed it, an American citizen! before 'Saving My Heart' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Trevor Rabin:Thank you very much. Thank you very much. You’re very kind. Great to be back in Alpine Valley. Thank you. Jon Anderson: So I went round to Trevor's house. Roundabout January, this year. There he was, playing the guitar, and he sang this song to me. So we’re going to do it for you now. before 'Lift Me Up' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:The amazing bass man, Mr. Christopher Squire! Woo! Here’s a song, gotta 'Lift Me Up', 'Lift Me Up', 'Lift Me Up'… before 'Wakeman Solo' transcribed by: Geoff Dunn Jon Anderson:Thank you so much. Thank you. That is from the new album. I just wanna say, you’ve been a really wonderful audience this evening. Just while we were doing that song, there was a moth flying around. As they say, on the wings of moths is the dark, gold dust of knowledge. When we travel around, we’ve got to have humor in the band. And the guy who gives us the craziest style of humor is also a great keyboard player - Mr. Rick Wakeman! |
