Just before the Roubaix concert last night, we waited for the band to arrive (which they did very late, BTW) and had the opportunity to talk a bit with Jon. Basically "Magnification" is now permanently added to the setlist. "Gates" puts too much of a strain on his voice and won't be played at all gigs. He said "roughly one night out of three", but it will definitely be played in Paris tonight and he strongly hinted that it will be also played both nights in London.

Another source among the road crew said to one of us that, while it is definitely true that "Gates" puts a huge strain on Jon's voice, he also reporteldy said sometime earlier that he would rather drop it completely as he feels uncomfortable singing it now with the international situation in the wake of Sep 11.

YES in Roubaix ?

It was surprising !

Why in this small town ?

I'm a Japanese YES fan since 1973, but only little chance to see YES shows here in Tokyo. This time I booked some tickets thru internet (very good seating) for my boyfriend + crazy YES fans of Roubaix-Lille. And he sent the Live YES sounds to me in Japan with his mobile phone.

The concert started after one hour delay. "Close to the Edge" woke me up at 3:00 in the morning, and the next came "Long Distance Runaround"...exciting !! The sounds thru telephone was very good, because of its small concert hall, Le Colisee ? It was really wonderful time to watch "YES World", listening to the live sounds. And big applause of Roubaix was great !
