before 'Starship Trooper' transcribed by: Eddie Jerlin Jon Anderson:Speak to me of summer, long winters longer than time can remember, the setting up of other roads, to travel on in old accustomed ways. This's a song called 'Starship Trooper'. before 'Gates Of Delirium, The' transcribed by: Eddie Jerlin Jon Anderson:Thank you! Thank you so much! Thank you so much! And we thank you all for coming along to Jones Beach tonight, thank you! We appreciate it especially we knew we're gonna have thunderstorms, really serious thunderstorms here today so, we will try to make thunderstorms for you [???] so... we'd like to [???] some songs that obviously we haven't played this next song for 25 years so we have, we have a great time trying to remember everything. But it's a song called 'Gates Of Delirium'. before 'Leaves Of Green' transcribed by: Eddie Jerlin Jon Anderson:Thank you so much. Woo! Wow. So wonderful. Soon oh soon the light. When I was writing that song for the first time, I wasn't sure about the light, but over the last few years, I believe there is light so much within everyone, everyone here especially. We thank you. The fact that we can play this music at this time in the year 2000 is all thanks to you. On guitar, we have Mr. Steve Howe! before 'Heart Of The Sunrise' transcribed by: Eddie Jerlin Jon Anderson:Thank you so much, thank you. Thank you. It's really, uh, great to be able to sing, I tell ya. Just before, two or three days, I'm trying to figure out what laryngitis can really do to you and how to get out of it, so to sing again is really remarkable for me and..I thank my wonderful, wonderful, beautiful wife Jane for taking care of me so much, thank you. This song, this song came about when I was listening to play backs of some of the records we were doing around 1971, I think it was. I get this feeling, strange sort of feeling going over me, like a very sharp, yet very distant feeling and I was thinking it must be the spirit energy of something that connects. You know that vibrations of music and sound and color and everything. And I meet this wonderful guy Mr. Chris Squire on bass guitar! Woo! So we got together and uh, started this song, it's called 'The Heart Of The Sunrise'. before 'Ritual' transcribed by: Eddie Jerlin Jon Anderson:Woo! Before, before we started, uh, this tour, we, we sort of put around uh, some ideas of songs we'd like to try and play and we went back and uh, this one kept coming up and..uh realizing that every time lots of people get together it is like a ritual and [???]. Thank all that is would say God all that is that we're still together in many ways we're enjoying making our music. We still create a ritual every time we get together and..uh it doesn't go unnoticed, beleive me and in earth spirits know when we're together. They know when we're together for good things. For good times and..uh so we'd like to play a song from those days, in 1973 we did an album called 'Tales From Topographic Oceans' and..uh as most of you know, every time we come out we want to play another piece of that music so tonight, we're gonna play for you 'Ritual'. before 'I've Seen All Good People' transcribed by: Eddie Jerlin Jon Anderson:Mr. Alan White on drums! Of course, on the keyboards, Mr. Igor Khoroshev! For the first time uh..about a couple of months ago, I was sitting with my son Damion, and he was..uh learning to play the guitar. So I taught him these chords you see here. I'm just gonna stick this in my ear then I can hear myself. And he said, 'Do you write a song from those chords?' I said, 'Yeah, and I'll sing it to you'. |
