Sound Quality: 8-9/10 IMHO, as always. Musicians: Jon Anderson Tony Kaye Trevor Rabin Chris Squire Alan White I bought this concert at a record show in Chicago about 15 years ago from a dealer who was selling off his "masters" (read personal copies). He did NOT tape the show but told me that these tapes were 2nd gen from the master. I was not present at this concert so I have no amazing or entertaining stories to tell. I will briefly describe the recording as far as its good and bad points are concerned. Good points: 1) This show is complete. 2) There is no distortion. 3) There are no speed problems. 4) There is very little audience participation, if any. 5) The signal strength is strong ; it's a nice loud recording. 6) Instruments are very clear. 7) Jon seems to be very high HA HA HA ! Bad points: 1) Vocals are not as strong as instruments, sometimes indistinct. 2) This has a distant sound to it ; I think that it was NOT taped from anywhere close to the stage. 3) Jon's onstage banter is difficult to understand. 4) Due to the size and shape of the venue, there is a bit of"boominess" to this recording. 5) There is a small amount of hiss, audible during the quieter parts of the show. I rated the show as a vg+ to ex- for the reasons I just mentioned. It's a really good show ; just not pure ex- or ex. I did very little to alter the content of this show. I retracked several of the songs and removed a small amount of superfluous screaming that (trust me) you would have found boring and irritating. I did NOTHING to alter the sound of the show. You are getting the RAW recording from me, the same thing that I have. If you wish to remaster this show, you have my permission and my blessing. Go ahead ; I just hope that you know what you're doing... That's about all that I can think of to say, so let's wrap this up... As always, if you have a better-sounding version of this concert, by all means PLEASE UPLOAD IT!!! No buy, no sell, no mp3. Please seed this as long as you can. I will post a sample shortly for those of you still undecided, but I think you'll find that this is a fine-sounding tape and a welcome addition to any Yes fan's collection. Well, thanks for reading this and Mr. Natural would like to add these few comments: have fun, don't freak out, don't eat the brown acid and above all, enjoy the show!!!
