This concert was 13 years ago, and when I posted less than 2 weeks ago about this show I could not immediately recall the name of the local musician who played, on very short notice, for the Yes fans. I have since recalled it, and his name is Barry Leach.
Barry is an excellent rock and jazz singer/guitarist, still active in the Jackson area, and it was a great bonus for the audience to get to hear him play while awaiting the headliner. Thank you Barry for a great impromptu show! Your presence that night was a silver lining to the cloud of Yes' weather delay!

The concert was delayed because the band's airline flight was canceled due to weather. However, rather than disappoint their fans, they chartered a private plane and still made it to the venue about 2 hours late. The audience was assured they were still coming, and a local artist played for us until they arrived. Much to my delight and Yes' credit, they played the full set, even though it was about midnight when it was over. Great show from my favorite band!
